Well said, as usual, by the estimable climate expert Julian Cribb, but the end sentence is sheer fantasy.

Humans are not, and never will be, capable of a World Treaty. Richard Falk called for precisely this back in his 1971 magnum opus “This Endangered Planet,” which gives us more than 50 years of data to confirm that Olivia is, sadly, entirely correct. Nation-states are murder colonies.

"Conflicts such as Ukraine and Gaza are the result of local ultra-nationalism." Absolutely not, they are the rsult of colonialism and.the US empire (and its vassals, its MIC and banking and extractive industries etc.)

This sentence sums up why western eco-imperialist narratives have failed and will fail to do anything to avoid or even understand ecocide or the impossible "transition" (there is only energy addition)

Gaza us not a "conflict" it is the largest prison in human history where supremacist sapiens (zionist jews) are perpetrating livestreamed, tiktoked genocide with full logistical, political and communication support from western empire. They brag about it, have theorized it in the hebrew media for decades, they share stories of how they crush 3 yo kids with their hands, how they trained army dogs to rape men, women and kids and countless abominations)

All that following more than a century of genocide of the agrarian indogenous people of Palestine by european jews acting as a forward colonial basefkrbthe UK and the US to fragment, pillage and collapse the arab world.

Similarly with Neonazi Ukraine used by Washington and London as a base to try to destroy and pillage Russia. And at the same time break any possibility of a stable and peaceful Europe ("Fuck the EU" as said by the subtle US diplomacy during their coup in Ukraine) Once again it is about colonialism and its current devastating form of global imperialism.
